Fair questions
How many trades get each lead?
3 at most. When 3 trades have taken a job, it closes. You and the homeowner both see how many have taken it.
What do I see before I spend a credit?
The job: the trade, what needs doing, the budget range, when, the postcode district. Unlocking shows the homeowner's name, phone and email, and the job's address. A Job line call you accept (press 1 and talk to the customer) costs 1 credit. A website lead costs 2 credits when the job's budget is under £1,000 or not set, and 3 credits when it is £1,000 or more. So 20 credits are up to 10 website leads for jobs under £1,000, or up to 20 Job line calls you accept.
What if the number is dead or the job is fake?
Report a website lead within 30 days and the credits you spent on it come back at once, up to 3 times a month. More reports than that are looked at by a person.
Do unused credits run out?
No, not while you stay on a trades plan: your plan's credits come each month when its payment goes through, and unused ones roll over. If your plan ends, they are kept for 30 days: come back within that time and they are there again.
Can I buy more credits?
Yes, in bundles: 20 for £40, 50 for £75 (launch price until 31 dec, then £90) or 100 for £160. You can't buy a single credit. Bundles are paid once by card, and their credits roll over like your plan's.
What is the Job line?
A phone line for homeowners. Homeowners ring one number, for any kind of job. Our AI can put them through by phone to up to 3 local trades at the same time for a quote, or text them up to 3 prices, or post their job. Job line calls come straight to your own phone, not to your AI receptionist, so you speak to the customer yourself. Your receptionist still answers your normal calls. It is included in Trades Pro and Trades Team. On Trades Starter it is £29 a month extra. A call you accept (you press 1 and talk to the customer) costs 1 credit, once per job. If you have no credits left, the Job line doesn't ring you: we text you once a day at most, so you can top up.
What if my receptionist minutes run out?
Calls are still answered. Extra minutes go on your next bill: 18p each on Starter (up to 1,000 a month), 13p each on Pro (up to 3,000 a month), 10p each on Team (up to 8,000 a month).
Can I pay to rank higher?
No. Search is sorted by distance and rating from matched jobs. Your plan gives you leads and call answering, not a better place. We tell homeowners this beside every list of trades.
Can I contact a lead by text or email?
Yes, only about the job they posted. Never add them to marketing lists, share or sell their details. We remove trades who do.
Do I have to use the AI receptionist?
No. It is included in every trades plan, and you switch it on only if you want it. It says it is an AI at the start of every call.
Where are the jobs?
Anywhere in the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. You choose the postcode districts you cover. We are new, so jobs in your area may be few at first.
Can I list my business without a trades plan?
Yes. Any Linesteward account on a paid plan can be listed, with your logo, and can switch on quote requests: homeowners ask you, and only you, for a quote, free for both of you. Job leads (jobs posted for up to 3 trades) need a trades plan.
Is there a contract?
No. Plans are monthly, or yearly (10 months' price for 12), paid by card through Stripe, and you can cancel any time in your dashboard. A plan ends at the end of the month or year you paid for.
Is there a free trial?
14 days free, then from £35 a month. Cancel any time. On Trades Starter, Pro or Team, paid monthly, with 5 free job credits to use in the trial. Your card is taken at Checkout and nothing is charged in the trial; we email you 3 days before the first payment. One free trial per business.
